In this folder you'll find partial or full text of six Peachpit titles in electronic format (see below for details on this technology).
NOTE: To read the books in Acrobat format (those are the items whose names have the suffix ".pdf"), you must first install the Acrobat Reader program on your hard disk. Double-click on the "Adobe Acrobat™ Reader" icon in this folder to get to the installation program, then begin the Installer program and follow the directions.
After viewing the electronic books, check out the Peachpit order form in this folder if you're interested in purchasing some books. In addition to the electronic books, we've included a quick tour of 3D Tutor, a 3-D modeling and animation training product distributed by Peachpit Press.
COMMUNICATE LIKE NEVER BEFORE WHILE SAVING TIME AND MONEY
Adobe Systems' Acrobat software lets you share complete documents electronically, regardless of computer, operating system, fonts or application software.
With Acrobat, you'll have the power to communicate your ideas. And spend less time and money photocopying, faxing and express-mailing your documents. All while preserving the investment you've already made in your computer hardware, software, networks and electronic mail systems.
With Acrobat, you can do the following:
• View, print and share documents in the Portable Document Format (PDF)
• Create PDF files with the PDF Writer driver
• Preserve fonts, layout, photos, graphics and other visual features
• Add comments to documents with electronic "sticky" notes
• Navigate through pages instantly using thumbnails, bookmarks and hypertext links
• Find information and notes quickly and easily
• Print to PostScript or non-PostScript printers--color or black and white, any resolution
• Copy text and paste it into other applications
• Electronically collate pages from PDF files to build new documents
• Create interactive links between pages and views
• Save disk space by storing electronic documents compactly
How to use Acrobat?
The files in this folder with the suffix ".pdf" are documents created with Adobe Acrobat. Double-click on one of them to open it and start the Acrobat application. Make sure you pull down the "Help" menu, where you will find "Acrobat Reader Help," a thorough set of instructions for using the program.
Let Anyone View and Print Them Without the Creating Application or Fonts.
Common Ground, from No Hands Software, uses DigitalPaper technology to enable you to create and distribute documents that are pixel-for-pixel identical with the original. A document that can be viewed or printed by any Macintosh user -- even if they don't have the creating application or fonts.
Distribute documents company-wide or send a newsletter to a colleague or client, always knowing that everyone will be able to use the document. Electronic document distribution has other benefits. Common Ground documents reduce the need to pirate the creating software application and will save your organization a bundle in paper costs.
